Tracy's Travels

Welcome to Tracy's Travels and F.U.B.A.R.
We are rebuilding this old school in bulgaria to provide accomodation to rent out and a sports bar. The property is in a little village called Simeonovo which is aprox 15 mins drive from Yambol and 1 1/2 hrs drive from Sunny Beach. This will be an ideal location for anyone who loves the peace and quiet of the country side or enjoys hunting or fishing or rambling.Yambol is a busy town with plenty night life for those who like to party and has many reasturants and cafe bars for a quieter evening if required.

Well things have changes slightly...................ok i know, as if things ever go to plan?!!!!!

We made our big move from the U.K. on the 21st of May 2007, so we've been here 3 weeks now. Thanks to lisa n Paul (Rob's brother n sister in-law) we're living in their basement while we work on the school. Lasted there about 5 weeks then moved out......... will only say BEWARE! cant say anything else due to pending court case but can say we have a restraining order keeping their whole family away!!!!

The school is coming on well but with a few minor alterations.......

1) The swimming pool will now NOT be in the basement, it will be inbetween the L shape of the school, it will still be enclosed and heated for all year round use. also we will put decking round the outside so i'll have somewhere to chill and catch the sun. Yippee

2) the basement where the pool should have been - will now be a personal play area, pool table, TV playstation etc.

3) The self contained flat in the basement for rental will no longer be done, our bulgarian friends Minko and Stanka will be moving in and we are employing Minko as our Caretaker.

all other things are staying the same at present..........fingers crossed!

well the windows are done, the electric cable is in and we are just waiting for power to be conected. Big thanks to Rikki (wanabe Geordie) who flew out from Donny to do our electrics with his wife Tracy. Sorry the electric wasnt on and that it took longer than expected, but the unmentionables above could have got a genny but said they couldn't find one, our 1st day here we walked into a shop and bought one......makes you think doesnt it????
Rikki is a great electrician at reasonable rates, now living in the same Village as us, would recomend him to all.

Rob (my other half) is working like mad putting up plaster boards ready for the plasterers.

they are due to start in about 2 weeks.

we are also awaiting the quote for the pool......god i hope its cheap!!!!!!!

Its really hot out here and we could all do with swim.

actually we could do with water as the water has been off for 2 days, buts thats another story.

David (my son) is fitting in fine and picking up the language quite well, we'll be sorting schooling out for him in sept as the kids have broken up for the summer, he's pleased summer hols are longer here, pity he has to stay at school till he's 19 tee hee!

As for me (Tracy) i'm loving it here. all the locals are friendly, even if i dont understand what they are saying to me?

the beer is cheap and it goes down well.....................too well, ask my Fella!

Yambol our nearest town has some pretty spots to just chill and watch the world go bye.
Oh the electric has gone off now, so thats it from me for now.
keep checking back for more info. bye for now x

Double glazing at last, but will it keep us warm in winter????

all 56 windows and 5 doors were done in just over 2 weeks.

The windows are pretty impresive,

Tho they arnt what i ordered, i did ask for UPC double glazing and ended up with Aluminium! Thants another story!

They are reflective and look like mirrors, how smart are the Bulgarians!

This is the back of the school, to the left will be our living quaters with a 32ft heated swimming pool in the basement.

To the right on the 1st floor will be F.U.B.A.R. Sports Bar and games room.

Underneath in the basement will be a Self Contained Flat to accomodate up to four people, fitted to a high standard.

The attick will be converted into three lots of accomodation, there will be two double rooms and a third room with a bouble bed and bunkbeds, all rooms will have en-suit and tea/coffee making facilities.

F.U.B.A.R. SPORTS BAR......... This will have a seperate games room with a pool table and darts board and the Bar will have SKY SPORTS, we intend to have an out door play area that is child friendly, so come along and know your kids will have fun too!

Another nice view of our new home and this is the room for my heated pool, why heated you might ask? Well in winter we can expect 5ft of snow and -25 so it gets pretty cold, i could always keep the heating off and have an Ice Rink .......he he

Hard to believe these rooms will be turned into a Self Contained Flat - watch this space..........

Here are a few more pictures of the school, as you can see there is a lot of work to be done, the building needs a whole new roof, all new windows and doors as well as plumbing and electrics.
